Replace several or ALL of your plumbing fixtures (faucets, showers, toilets) with low-flow fixtures in order to save water. Something we can all easily do is try not to run the water full blast when brushing our teeth or washing dishes, especially the hot water.

Thanks, Maria! You are so right. I was just thinking about this. Another thing we do is, when we need hot water and it first comes out ice cold, we collect the cold water in a plastic container until it turns warm, so it doesn't all just go down the drain. Then we put that water in our Brita Filter for drinking later. You could use it for other things, too, of course - watering plants, washing the car, etc.
