We stayed at the Hampton Inn a few times when house hunting in 2009. It is conveniently located and comfortable. However, the complimentary breakfast is a big disappointment - bland prepackaged food. LOTS of wasteful packaging and all disposable plates, flimsy little plastic disposable flatware, etc. Not at all "green" and not even tasty.
We then started staying at the Holiday Inn down the street - and were quite pleased. The rooms were comfortable and the staff friendly. They don't provide free breakfast, but you can request an in room refrigerator. That allows you the convenience to keep your own food fresh and eat what you like. With a bit of advanced planning, you can bring your own cereal bowl and silverware and be all set! Beyond breakfast, you can keep beverages and other foods, too.
